How I came into relationship with Jesus Christ I was raised in a Christian home and recall repenting of my sin and choosing Christ to be my savior and Lord. In Sunday school they told us we could accept Christ as our savior anywhere, even in your closet at home. So I went home in my closet and accepted Christ as my savior that week. I have seen God’s faithfulness in my life ever since that day. Throughout my life God has provided several “moments” where he did serious work on my heart. One in particular happened about 2008. I attended a men’s conference and the very first speaker preached on the Gospel. Prior to this experience I often assumed the Gospel and treated it as something for mainly new believers. However, my heart was set ablaze as I realized in an overwhelming way the Gospel is very much needed for all of us no matter how long we’ve been saved. I was freshly amazed at how great my sin was and how much greater my savior is! He rescued me when I was still deep in sin. What a SAVIOR!
How I came to Harvest I’m originally from the Michiana area and we recently moved back from Illinois. We were looking for a Gospel-centered church to attend and listened to a couple archived messages online. After listening we liked what we heard and wanted to meet with a pastor to see if what was preached up front was what went on behind the scenes. Pastor Matt set up a meeting with us and we quickly knew this was the place we wanted to be.
What I do at Harvest I serve as the Campus Pastor of our upcoming Elkhart County Campus
Why I do what I do I have been part of many profitable Bible studies. Along with that I’ve enjoyed fun fellowship with people. But I struggled to really bond with others and have genuine, biblical fellowship surrounded around God and His Word. I longed for that kind of fellowship in my life. We experienced this in Illinois and it radically changed our lives. From that point on my wife and I wanted to be heavily involved in small groups, speaking into the lives of others and having our lives spoken into.
